What a great summer so far! A few days after school let out, we headed off on quite an excursion! After a great camping trip in April, we decided to purchase our own trailer and make a thing of it! We went on our first camping adventure to five states in three weeks... what a great time! Just when the kids would get homesick, we'd be off to the next spot and there would be more to explore and keep their attention. We stayed within a few hours drive to the DC area, so Ray was able to go to work every fourth day- a three week vacation with no planes and no time off from work! Now that took planning! Our first stop was to Lake Gaston, NC... now my next scheme is to buy a power boat for tubing and waterskiing!

Next, we went to a working farm in Gettysburg, PA where the kids got a chance to meet the animals up close a personal at the petting zoo, took hayrides and enjoyed the pool.
The baby goat actually tried to eat Nicholas's shirt!
We took a day trip on Father's Day to Lancaster, PA and toured the Gettysburg Battlefields.
Then, we headed off to the NJ shore near Wildwood! That was our favorite... the boardwalk was a hit and the campground had a lake, huge pool and outdoor waterpark with waterslides and all!
We headed to Maryland for a way-too-short visit. We spent a day with friends on their beautiful boats and picked crabs (we miss that in NC!)
Then it was off to Colonial Beach, VA for a few days so Ray could work one last shift before heading home! We have been home for a few days and will head off to Myrtle Beach for our 13th wedding anniversary! Who said it wouldn't last! :-)
